The savings of time related to the optimization of Wysistat by the configuration of Apache are not measurable with regard to the management of the processes.
On the other hand, the desactivation of useless modules made it possible to make decrease the memory size of the processes. While considering the maximum number of Apache processes which the server can launch, we have an increase of approximately 22 %.
Optimization by caching PHP
Tests carried out on the machine quoted under the working conditions with the same mechanism of counting that Wysistat, gave the following results for the various tools of caching PHP:
It is noticed that the profits of performances are more significant with the use of PHP Accelerator
It is thus this tool which was selected to optimize the server of counting of Wysistat.
Here the times obtained on average for a visit:
- before installation of PHPA: 7,318 milliseconds
- after installation of PHPA: 3,244 milliseconds
Thus the profit brought by PHPA is 55,67 %.
